160 Amp TIG/MMA/ARC Inverter Welder
The HYTIG-160 is a lightweight and incredibly versatile single phase MMA / TIG welder from Hyundai.
Light And Portable Inverter Welder
Weighing 12kg, the HYTIG-160 is easy to carry around thanks to its adjustable harness and lightweight pressed steel case with powder coated finish for extra corrosion resistance. Accessories include TIG welding torch with 4m cable, electrode holder with 2m cable, earth clamp with 1.5m cable, chipping hammer and wire brush making the HYTIG-160 extremely cost effective.
Stepless Regulator
The HYTIG-160 TIG welder features a stepless regulator for infinite variable control of the welding current with a low current facility for effective welding of thinner materials. The welding (output) current of the HYTIG-160 can be regulated within the range of 20-160 Ampere making the HYTIG-160 adjustable to suit welding different materials and thicknesses of steel.
Information On Duty Cycle
Beware of lower quality models by always checking the ‘Duty Cycle’. Duty cycle is the amount of time, within a 10 minute period the welder can be used, on a given output. For example, our 160A welder has a duty cycle of 60% when used on 160A output (TIG).
Duty cycles for the Hyundai welder range shown below:
Model | Output Amperage / Duty Cycle / Period of use within 10 minute period | ||
---|---|---|---|
MMA120 | 70A / 100% / 10minutes | 90A / 50% / 6minutes | 120A / 35% / 3.5minutes |
MMA160 | 95A / 100% / 10minutes | 120A / 50% / 6minutes | 160A / 35% / 3.5minutes |
MMA200P | 155A / 100% / 10minutes | 200A / 60% / 6minutes | |
TIG160 | 124A / 100% / 10minutes | 160A / 60% / 6minutes | |
TIG200 | 155A / 100% / 10minutes | 200A / 60% / 6minutes | |
MIG180 | 105A / 100% / 10minutes | 140A / 60% / 6minutes | 180A / 35% / 3.5minutes |
Cheaper, lower quality welders claim to be a certain Amperage output, but can have a very low duty cycle on the output they have claimed. Always check the duty cycle to ensure you are getting the best value for money.
TIG Welder with inverter technology and thermal overload protection
Inverter Welder Technology
The inverter technology used within the Hyundai welders has certain advantages compared to more traditional transformer welders. The inverter type welders are usually lighter, more cost effective and usually require less input power for a comparable output. This makes them more cost effective not only to purchase, but also to run.
Thermal Overload Protection
Fitted with thermal overload protection to ensure maximum durability. Suitable for welding steel, stainless steel, copper, nickel, titanium and their alloys.
All Round Welder
Suitable for fabricators, farmers, home mechanics, mobile technicians and DIY enthusiasts the HYTIG-160 is a good all rounder for welding with rods up to 4mm. The HYTIG-160 features high frequency starts allowing for smooth arc strikes.
Low Service And Maintenance
With low service and maintenance requirements, the HYTIG-160 is incredibly easy to use and maintain, and has full Hyundai UK parts back up.

Know Your Welder
(MMA) Manual Metal Arc – Manual Metal Arc Welding (MMA) or (MMAW) Manual Metal Arc Welding is flux shielded arc welding or informally as stick welding, is a manual arc welding process that uses a consumable electrode covered with a flux to lay the weld.
(TIG) Tungsten Inert Gas – Tungsten Inert Gas Welding (TIG) or (GTAW) Gas Tungsten Arc Welding is an arc welding process that uses a non-consumable tungsten electrode to produce the weld.
(MIG) Metal Inert Gas – Metal Inert Gas Welding (MIG), (GMAW) Gas Metal Arc Welding or (MAG) Metal Active Gas is a welding process in which an electric arc forms between a consumable wire electrode and the workpiece metal(s), which heats the workpiece metal(s), causing them to melt and join.
Warranty
Covered by a Hyundai 2 year platinum warranty.
